Frequently Asked Questions

Fill out the booking request form with your concept details, reference images, and preferred placement. Chris will review your submission and reach out within a few business days to discuss availability and pricing.

Pricing depends on size, complexity, placement, and time required. The minimum charge for any tattoo is $150. Once your request is reviewed, Chris will provide a quoted range. Larger, more complex pieces (sleeves, full back pieces) are typically priced at an hourly rate of $200/hr.

Chris works exclusively by appointment to ensure every client gets the time and attention their tattoo deserves. Occasionally, last-minute slots open up — follow on Instagram to hear about those.

A non-refundable deposit (typically $100–$200 depending on project scope) is required to hold your appointment. This deposit is applied toward the final cost of your tattoo. Deposits are transferable if you need to reschedule with at least 48 hours notice.

Custom designs are typically revealed on the day of your appointment. This protects the original artwork and ensures Chris has full creative focus on your piece. Minor revisions on the day are always welcome — the goal is for you to love it before the needle hits the skin.

Yes, on a case-by-case basis. Cover-ups require an in-person or photo consultation first to assess the existing tattoo and determine the best approach. Not every tattoo can be covered — submit a booking request with photos and Chris will let you know what's possible.

Aftercare Instructions

Proper aftercare is essential for your tattoo to heal correctly and retain its color and detail. Follow these instructions closely — a great tattoo can only stay great with the right care.

Leave the bandage or wrap applied by Chris in place for the time he recommends (usually 2–24 hours depending on the wrap type used). When you remove it, gently wash the tattoo with warm water and fragrance-free soap using clean hands. Pat dry with a clean paper towel — never rub. Apply a thin layer of unscented moisturizer or the recommended aftercare product.

• Wash 2–3 times per day with gentle, fragrance-free soap. • Apply a thin layer of unscented lotion after each wash (Lubriderm, Aveeno, or similar). • Do not pick, scratch, or peel flaking skin — let it fall off naturally. • Avoid submerging in baths, pools, or the ocean. • Keep out of direct sunlight. • Wear loose, breathable clothing over the tattoo area.

The surface of your tattoo will look fully healed within 2–3 weeks, but the deeper layers of skin continue healing for up to 3 months. Continue moisturizing daily and apply SPF 50+ sunscreen any time the tattoo is exposed to sunlight. UV damage is the number-one cause of color fading.

• Picking or scratching the tattoo. • Soaking in water (pools, hot tubs, ocean, baths) for 3–4 weeks. • Direct sun exposure without sunscreen. • Tight clothing that rubs the area. • Products with fragrance, alcohol, or heavy petroleum (like Vaseline). • Shaving directly over the healing tattoo.

Some redness and minor swelling in the first 48 hours is normal. Seek medical advice if you experience: excessive swelling or warmth, pus or unusual discharge, a spreading rash, fever, or if the pain significantly worsens after the first day. Allergic reactions are rare but possible — contact a healthcare professional if you're unsure.

Chris offers a free touch-up within 3 months of your session for any areas that may have healed unevenly — provided you followed the aftercare instructions. Touch-ups for tattoos older than 3 months or those showing neglect/sun damage are charged at the standard rate. Please allow the tattoo to fully heal before scheduling a touch-up.
